Voice Cloning Consent

1One rule

A voice being findable online, an interview being public, or your having obtained the recording lawfully are not substitutes for permission. Permission comes from the owner of the voice.

2Absolutely prohibited

• Public figures. Politicians, artists, presenters, athletes, streamers — being famous is not the same as consenting.
• Words never spoken. Making a real person appear to say something they did not say is off limits even with a voice you have permission to use.
• Impersonation. Using the voice of an institution, an official or an acquaintance to request money, information or access.
• The voices of the deceased — without the express permission of their heirs.
• The voices of minors — without the permission of a parent or guardian.
• Harassment, defamation, discrimination, or any other purpose unlawful in your jurisdiction.

3Where your recording goes

There are two paths, and the difference matters:

In both cases no copy reaches us. That's good news with a consequence: we cannot detect or prevent a violation. Policing whose voice you clone is entirely on you. See Privacy Policy, clause 8.

If you use ElevenLabs, their own voice cloning rules and consent verification apply as well; our permission is not a substitute for theirs.

4Your duty to disclose synthetic voice

In most places a voice being cloned is not itself the problem — the problem is a listener not knowing. Depending on where you publish, the following may apply:

• The EU Artificial Intelligence Act. Content containing synthetic audio or video resembling a real person must be disclosed as artificially generated. The obligation applies from August 2026.
• YouTube. Realistically altered or synthetic content must be flagged as such at upload.

Using your own voice on your own channel generally raises no issue; using someone else's makes disclosure essential. Checking what you must declare and where is your responsibility as the publisher.

5Voice as personal data

A person's voice forms part of their personality rights and is also personal data under the GDPR and Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK). Cloning without permission can amount to a violation of personality rights, a data processing violation and, depending on the circumstances, fraud or defamation.

If you are using someone else's voice, you are the party processing their data — not us. Obtaining, keeping and being able to prove that consent is your responsibility.

6A consent form you can use

If you are going to clone someone else's voice, you are welcome to use the text below. It is not a lawyer-drafted contract; it gives you a minimum record. Keep a signed copy, or clear consent given by email.

VOICE USE CONSENT

I, the person named below;

1. Give [YOUR NAME] permission to use a recording of my own voice for the
   purpose of producing a synthetic voice with artificial intelligence
   (voice cloning).
2. Consent to that synthetic voice being used as narration in videos
   published as part of [CHANNEL / PROJECT NAME].
3. Understand that this permission DOES NOT COVER political content,
   advertising or promotion, adult content, or any use that implies I
   endorse a product or an opinion.
4. Understand that I may withdraw this permission at any time by written
   notice; that no new content will be produced after that notice; and that
   existing content will be taken down within a reasonable period.

Fill in the bracketed parts. You can widen or narrow the exclusions in clause 3 by agreement with the owner of the voice — but don't leave them blank; that's where disputes start.

7Consequences of a breach

If we learn that these rules have been broken we will suspend or terminate the licence, and in serious cases report it to the competent authorities. Any legal liability and any third-party claims are yours (see Terms of Service, clause 8).
